When I created this, I was in a space where I had to really look at how I was living. I started realizing how much of life can be shaped by other people’s opinions, expectations, and the worlds they built for themselves. And I didn’t want that for me. I didn’t want to keep bending to that. I wanted to live in a way that actually felt like mine.
I started asking myself what I could make out of where I was. Not just for me, but for anyone else trying to figure themselves out too. That’s where this came from.
This child painting the Earth is a reflection of that. It’s the idea that you can create your own world the way you want it to be. You don’t have to live inside somebody else’s version of life. You can decide what you like, learn yourself, and build something that feels real to you.
The focus on his face matters. That level of attention, that investment. That’s what it takes. It’s not always clean. It’s not always easy. You see it in the paint on his hands, his face, his clothes. It gets messy. But that’s part of creating something that actually belongs to you.
